It's been exactly 10 years since I started my first data science job. In that time, I've come to hold the very strong belief that the highest value of data is to drive human action. I went from being a bit of a snob about tools to truly appreciating the power of tools that people use. If Excel stopped working tomorrow, the world economy would come to a screeching halt. Everyone can and should use data to make better decisions. My mission is to provide pragmatic guidance that meets them wherever they're at.
In my career of choice, I've experienced so much intellectual joy, helped a lot of people, and learned from a lot of dumb mistakes. I'm going to be using the blog to share reflections from 10 years of helping people make decisions, and thinking out loud about the next 10 years.
